Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how "Dog Breed Identifier By Image" application published under the developer account "Kevin Ghori"
collects, uses, and protects user data. By using this app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on the app functionality, we may collect the following types of data:
a. User-Provided Data
- Photos you capture using your device camera or select from your photo library for dog breed identification
- Scan history entries saved locally on your device (breed name, scan date, and associated photo)
b. Usage Data
- Device type, model, and OS version
- App usage statistics and feature interactions
- Crash reports and diagnostic data
- Subscription and purchase status (managed via Apple In-App Purchase)
- Device advertising identifier (Apple IDFA on iOS), collected by our advertising partner Google AdMob to serve relevant advertisements — only after you grant permission via the Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt
c. AI Breed Identification & Third-Party Processing
- When you use the dog breed identification feature, the app securely transmits your selected photo to Google Firebase's AI service (Gemini) to perform the breed analysis.
- The transmitted data includes only the photo you submit for identification.
- The photo is processed solely to generate the breed identification result and is not retained by us after the response is delivered.
- We do not sell, rent, or use your photos or identification results for advertising profiling.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Identify dog breeds in photos you submit using AI-powered analysis
- Save your scan history locally on your device for your reference
- Improve app performance and user experience
- Fix bugs and improve functionality
- Deliver and validate in-app purchases and subscriptions
- Send push notifications (only if you grant permission)
- Show relevant ads (only when you are not a premium subscriber and ads are enabled)
We do not sell, rent, or transfer any user data to third parties.
3. Data Storage, Sharing & Retention
a. Where Is Your Data Stored?
- Your scan history (breed names, scan dates, and associated photos) is stored locally on your device only using on-device storage.
- We do not maintain user accounts or cloud profiles. We do not store your photos or identification results on our servers.
- Subscription receipts are validated through Apple's In-App Purchase system; we do not see your payment information.
b. Will Your Data Be Shared?
- Photos you submit for identification are temporarily transmitted to Google Firebase AI (Gemini) only to perform the breed analysis.
- Anonymous diagnostic and analytics events may be transmitted to Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
- Push notification tokens may be transmitted to Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) if you grant notification permissions.
- Advertising-related signals may be transmitted to Google AdMob (subject to your ATT choice).
- Your photos and scan results are never shared with advertisers or marketing companies.
c. How Long Is Data Retained?
- Photos sent for AI identification are processed for the duration of the request only and are not retained by us after the response is delivered.
- Locally stored scan history remains on your device until you delete individual entries, clear all history, or uninstall the app.
4. Camera & Photo Library
The app requests access to your camera and photo library only when you choose to identify a dog breed. Photos are used solely for breed identification and are not transmitted off-device except to the AI processing service. You can revoke camera or photo library permissions at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security.
5. Push Notifications
The app may request permission to send push notifications. Notifications are used only to deliver relevant app updates or information. You can manage notification permissions at any time in Settings > Notifications. Notification tokens are managed through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging.
6. Third-Party Services
Our app integrates the following third-party services:
- AI breed identification — Google Firebase AI (Gemini)
- Analytics & crash reporting — Google Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics
- Remote configuration — Google Firebase Realtime Database
- Push notifications — Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
- Advertising — Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, native, and app-open formats)
- In-app purchases and subscriptions — Apple In-App Purchase
These services process data according to their own privacy policies:
7. Advertising & Device Identifiers
The app may display advertisements served by Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, native, and app-open formats). To serve relevant ads, AdMob and its partners may collect and use your device's advertising identifier:
- iOS: Apple Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA)
On iOS 14 and later, the app will request your permission before accessing your IDFA through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. If you deny tracking, AdMob will only serve non-personalized ads.
You can manage ad personalization at any time:
- iOS ATT:
Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
- Apple personalized ads:
Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising > Personalized Ads
Premium subscribers do not see advertisements.
8. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases
iOS (Apple App Store)
- Subscriptions are billed via your Apple ID and auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- The available subscription tier is a Weekly Premium plan. Price and duration are displayed in-app prior to purchase.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions at:
Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions
- We do not handle billing directly. For support, contact: kevinghori@outlook.com
